ART-Leviation!
(to alleviate: art that heals)
This art exhibit expands on the summit’s theme of healing on an individual, community, and planetary level. Healing and art have always worked closely together to forge a connection between the mind and body. And, just as art can be expressed in many different forms, healing can also be expressed, experienced and defined in a myriad of ways!
We are honored to highlight the work of 4 artists who in their distinct ways utilize their art to explore and address their individual and community environments. Please join us in exploring their work.

MaYorie (Mayo) Ovalle Rojas (she/they)"I’m a 3d year Oakes Affiliate. I am from and currently residing in the Bay Area and have been trying to stay afloat with the pandemic. I haven’t been doing digital work for too long and I’m still fairly new at it but it’s a good way to escape reality. I hope you enjoy what you see <3"

Anahi Munoz Gonzalez (She/Her)I am someone who has always liked exploring with different art mediums. In high school, I gave pencil drawings and watercolor a try but eventually stopped. I tried crocheting a bit since it's something my mother does but once again I dropped it due to school. My first ever embroidery piece was in sophomore year of high school for a school project but I never thought about it after that. Then for Christmas of 2019 I wanted to save money so I decided to make my friend an embroidered baby Yoda shirt. From then I tried a few other designs on shirts but it wasn't until quarantine that I really picked it up and decided to stay with embroidery. I mainly focus on anime outlines and colored pieces but I have done other designs as well such as an elephant, the We Bare Bears, the Club Penguin puffs, Appa, and some flowers.
